Practical application on the battlefield

FPV drones have become particularly prominent in conflicts where high accuracy is required at minimal cost. They can be mass-produced even in field conditions, making them an affordable weapon for small units.

They are used in a wide variety of scenarios:

  • Attacks on armored vehicles and trucks, especially in convoys or when moving.
  • Disabling air defense positions, radio equipment, or command posts.
  • Engaging infantry in trenches, buildings, or other fortified positions.
  • Real-time surveillance of enemy movements.
  • Mass attacks in swarm mode, when several drones operate simultaneously.

Such widespread use has become possible thanks to the simplicity of design and the ability to quickly adapt drones to specific needs. Another important factor is their stealth and low cost compared to traditional weapons.

Advantages and limitations

Despite their many advantages, FPV drones are not without limitations. Their effectiveness depends directly on terrain conditions, weather factors, and the level of training of the operators. In addition, they are vulnerable to electronic warfare and require stable communication.

The main pros and cons of using FPV drones:

  • High accuracy thanks to manual control.
  • Low cost compared to other types of weapons.
  • Ability to adapt to different tasks and objectives.
  • Limited range and flight time.
  • Dependence on operator skills and signal quality.

Thus, FPV drones have become an important tool in modern tactics, combining elements of engineering and combat effectiveness. Their development continues, including attempts to automate them, enhance their security, and increase the accuracy of their strikes.
