Design of gas analyzers

How a gas analyzer works:
- When a gas hits the sensor, a chemical or physical reaction occurs that changes the electrical properties of the sensor.

- Infrared analyzers measure the concentration of gases by analyzing changes in infrared radiation caused by interaction with certain gases.
- Catalytic analyzers measure the concentration of gases, such as flammable gases or vapors, by using catalysts.
- Semiconductor analyzers are based on the use of semiconductor materials. They detect changes in conductivity caused by the presence of certain gases.
- Gas mass spectrometers are more sophisticated instruments to more accurately analyze the composition of a gas mixture by ionizing them and analyzing ion masses.
Gas analyzers are mounted on production equipment or pipelines. They are placed on the walls of the premises or on special racks. This is how air quality is monitored in buildings or outdoors.
Application of gas analyzers
Gas analyzers are used in fire protection systems for homes and enterprises. They are necessarily there in hazardous production. Gas analyzers are necessary for such tasks:
- Monitoring the level of harmful or explosive gases in production facilities such as chemical plants, oil refineries and steel mills.
- Monitoring air and water pollution for environmental improvement.
- Diagnosing gas concentrations in medical gas mixtures, including in anesthesiology and intensive care.
- Indoor safety, gas leak detection and air quality monitoring in confined spaces such as buildings and tunnels.
- Scientific studies of chemical reaction processes, analyzing the composition of gas mixtures and monitoring environmental changes.
With a variety of sensor types and technologies, accurate measurements are obtained. This helps to create technologies and solutions for safety, security and environmental protection. In factories, process efficiency is improved by monitoring the balance of gases.
