Perishable products are transported in transport with refrigerator containers. They maintain a given temperature and humidity, they are sealed and protected from the hot rays of the sun and precipitation. Refrigerators not only cool the contents, but they can also maintain a plus temperature to transport cargo that needs to be warm in cold weather.
Features of the structure and operation of the refrigerator
Under the outer aluminum layer of the body is laid polyurethane foam insulation. It provides an airtight seal and prevents heat or cold from entering through the body. It also prevents the interior environment from transmitting temperature to the outside. The doors are insulated on the inside and have gaskets at the joints with the body.
Inside, there is a refrigeration unit which maintains the temperature in the container from -30 to +30. A compressor pumps freon gas into the condenser, brings it to a boil and cools it. From there the gas flows to the receiver - expansion tank, the excessive pressure is relieved. Then freon enters the drying filter and passes into the evaporator, where fans are installed. They direct streams of cold air inside the container from top to bottom. In this way, the space is cooled evenly. The cycle repeats.
The control unit allows the user to set the desired humidity and temperature parameters automatically. The device monitors the system's condition and regulates the defrosting and freezing intervals.
The refrigerator is powered by a diesel generator, that is why it always needs fuel for its work. There are models powered by electricity, if the container is installed in a warehouse, it is connected to the network.
Types of refrigerated containers
Such storage facilities differ according to the following parameters:
- Temperature mode. There are containers for cooling to +1 ° C, to -20 ° C, combined - from +10 to -20 ° C, multi-temperature - maintain different temperatures in the departments.
- Size. The standard is 20-40 feet, there are high models of 40 and 45 feet. There are refrigerated containers with higher body for oversized cargo. Lower containers are used for transporting small-sized products.
- Cargo-carrying capacity - light-tonnage - up to 1.5 tons, medium-tonnage - from 2.5 to 5 tons, heavy-tonnage - more than 10 tons.
Use of refrigerated containers
There are refrigerator containers with one-piece space inside, divided into compartments, shelves with cargo fixation. This allows the use of such storage facilities for large, small or fragile goods. Foodstuffs, plants, medicines, etc. are transported in them.
Refrigerators are used for such tasks:
- Delivery of goods. Refrigeration unit can operate for a long time, so refrigerators not only deliver goods from the factory to local stores, but also transport them to other regions or to distant countries.
- Product storage. Since the refrigerator can operate stationary, powered from the mains, it is used as a warehouse indoors or outdoors.
Cargo can be placed in storage by hand or with the help of a forklift. Most refrigerator containers have doors all the way to the back wall and fully open.
You can choose a container refrigerator for different dimensions of the cargo, to cool or freeze it, or to keep it warm. There are models that work only for cooling and freezing.
